It is my desire that Child of Lust will bring renewed hope of a better life and a ray of sunshine back into the millions of children who grew up in abusive situations, single mothers who feel they're at the end of their rope, and countless broken lives that are hiding behind forced smiles today.

Author Tony StCyr shares an amazing heartfelt real-life story in Child of Lust ($16.49, paperback, 9781662865633; $30.49, dust jacket, 9781662865640; $7.99, e-book, 9781662865657).

Tony StCyr’s family had some deep hidden secrets that date back to 1958.
That was the year a 16-year-old Southern Baptist girl from Fayetteville, Georgia got pregnant. The teenager’s poor sharecropper parents desperately tried to create a plan to save their family’s reputation and their soiled daughter’s honor. As StCyr uncovers this emotional story, this was much more than just a pregnancy. Questions were raised: Was it consensual? What was to be done with the unborn child? Would she abort or give it up for adoption? Would she choose to raise it on her own or pass it off to an older sibling? Only the pregnant girl – StCyr’s mother – knew the truth, and she remained silent for more than 4 decades.
“After learning the truth at my mother's wake about my real father, a sister I never met, my close encounter with death and the missed adoption, I was so moved by what I heard I felt it necessary to share our incredible story,” said StCyr. “My mom's amazing courage and sacrifice were so paramount that it brought me to tears, and still does today. When I finished writing, Child of Lust, I told my family and circle of friends that my story, her story, our family story is a lot of people's story…rejection, loneliness, alcoholism, and heartache is a part of many people’s lives who walk among us today. It is my desire that Child of Lust will bring renewed hope of a better life and a ray of sunshine back into the millions of children who grew up in abusive situations, single mothers who feel they're at the end of their rope, and countless broken lives that are hiding behind forced smiles today.”
