The company has given a $5,000 contribution to the City of Fremont's Giving Hope program, and $515 in continuing support to Boys & Girls Club of North San Mateo County.
RK is supporting the Giving Hope program for the first time. Managed by the city's Human Services Department, Giving Hope provides holiday gifts, grocery cards and living supplies to community members in need. Sponsors shop for items from a personalized wish list for a family in need, an individual in unstable housing, or a senior on a fixed income, including those with pets who enrich their lives.
The contribution represents RK's continued support for City of Fremont community activities. The company earlier this year teamed up with the city's Community Services Department to provide summer recreation program scholarships for low-income children. It was RK's third consecutive year as a scholarship sponsor, providing a $1,450 charitable contribution which enabled up to 18 low-income children living within the City of Fremont, to participate in summer recreation youth programs.
The additional holiday support for the Boys and Girls Club of North San Mateo County complements RK's $5,000 donation made earlier this year at the Club's 4th annual Where Great Futures Begin luncheon. The funds help underwrite programs and activities for Club members and their families that include educational field trips, intellectually stimulating and physically challenging activities and other enrichment programs in a safe and secure environment.
