RMI Expeditions Announces New Trip: Machu Picchu Trek
Ashford, WA (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 -- RMI Expeditions, the premier American mountaineering and trekking guide service, announces their new Machu Picchu Trek for 2014. RMI's Machu Picchu Trek follows the Salkantay Trail, a less traveled, highly scenic alternative to the shorter, standard Inca Trail route.
RMI's thirteen-day door-to-door Machu Picchu Trek perfectly blends Peruvian culture and mountain adventure. The trip begins in Cusco, Peru, visiting the city's historical sites and the nearby Sacred Valley of the Incas. Beginning in the village of Cruzpata, trekkers use six days to ascend the Apurimac River Valley, weaving through the valleys and passes of Peru's Andes to reach the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu. A final day and a half is spent visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site before returning to Cusco.
RMI is proud to bring 44 years of mountain guiding experience to their Machu Picchu Treks. Each trek is led by an RMI Guide, known for being among the most accomplished and experienced guides in the profession. Working in conjunction with local outfitters and with comprehensive logistical support, RMI offers the best possible experience of trekking to Machu Picchu.
