Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) May 06, 2016 -- Give Day Tampa Bay was designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of hundreds of different non-profit organizations in the community. The event also provide the catalyst for RNR Tire Express and Custom Wheels to team up with Wheels of Success, whose mission is to provide personal transportation to keep people working and sustain their independence. Wheels of Success has been helping families obtain and continue working by providing them with reliable transportation in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Counties since 2003.
“When I first learned about Wheels of Success, I knew that RNR could help,” said Vince Ficarrotta Vice President and Partner in RNR Ties Express and Custom Wheels. Vince introduced the idea of participating in this year’s event to his partners, Linda Petko and Larry Sutton. He then contacted, Susan Jacobs, the Founder and CEO of Wheels of Success to see how RNR could get involved. “All three of us have personally experienced someone providing us a helping hand at some point in our life. This program gave us an opportunity to Pay It Forward,” added Ficarrotta.
Susan Jacobs had selected a deserving single mother of three children. Amy works full-time in the Hillsborough County School system helping special needs children. Amy had relied on public transportation and her own mother (Connie) to get back and forth to work. Joining the other 595 nonprofits that participated in this year’s 24-hour event, Amy and her family met Susan and the RNR Team at the Brandon RNR Tire Express and Custom Wheels location. RNR had donated a Saturn station wagon and Susan added the bow before Mr. Ficarrotta handed Amy the keys to the Saturn. “This Sunday will be a very special Mother’s Day for us. I had promised to take mom to lunch on Mother’s Day, and this year, I think I will drive,” said Amy.
