MEDINA, Minn., June 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has added three new projects to its assortment of exclusive outdoor furniture plans with templates: a Bar-Height Adirondack Table, a Portable Outdoor Chair and a traditional Westport Chair.
Like all Rockler outdoor furniture plans, these projects include full-color, illustrated step-by-step instructions and full-size corrugated cardboard templates for parts with curved or otherwise challenging shapes. Users supply the lumber of their choice. To make building easier, Rockler also offers hardware packs with stainless steel screws and any other necessary hardware for all three projects.
"These three projects are great additions to our growing selection of plans and templates for outdoor furniture," said Theresa Schmidt, Rockler's vice president of merchandising. "Our goal is to help customers of all skill levels build furniture that they can proudly enjoy on their deck, porch or patio."
The 36-1/2" high Bar-Height Adirondack Table is a companion piece to Rockler's Bar-Height Adirondack Chair templates and plan. It can be built from readily available 3/4"-thick material, and its 20" wide by 24" deep oval top and a narrower lower shelf provide space for drinks and snacks. Both top and shelf are designed with a hole to accommodate a patio umbrella.
The Portable Outdoor Chair is the woodworker's take on the common lawn chair. It features a curved seat and curved back for comfort, and it breaks down into two pieces, with one nesting securely inside of the other for storage or for transport to a picnic or a ball game. Fully assembled, it measures 19" wide by 36"deep by 35-1/4" high, and the top of the seat is 18" from the floor.
Many people consider the Westport Chair to be the ancestor of the widely popular Adirondack chair. It has many of the most well-loved features of the Adirondack — a deep seat, steeply reclined back and extra-wide armrests — but it is constructed of boards glued together into wider planks, rather than individual slats. This flat plank-style construction with thicker 7/8" stock gives the chair its distinctive angular appearance.
Rockler has previously introduced plan and template sets for such projects as a classic Adirondack Chair, a Folding Adirondack Chair and an English Garden Bench.
The plan and template sets, as well as the related hardware packs, are priced as follows:
- Bar-Height Adirondack Table plan and template set (61795) — $19.99
- Bar-Height Adirondack Table hardware pack (63918) — $24.99
- Portable Outdoor Chair plan and template set (65472) — $19.99
- Portable Outdoor Chair hardware pack (67625) — $14.99
- Westport Chair plan and template set (64032) — $19.99
- Westport Chair hardware pack (61581) — $14.99
