Care Net President and CEO Roland C. Warren Discusses Life and Family on Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast
Lansdowne, VA (PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- Roland C. Warren, president and CEO of Care Net, appeared on the Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast to discuss the importance of protecting the lives of the unborn and building strong families.
In a two-part interview called "Encouraging Men to be Good Dads," Jim Daly, Focus on the Family's president, and John Fuller, vice president of Focus on the Family's Audio and New Media division, interviewed Roland about his book, Bad Dads of the Bible, his work at National Fatherhood Initiative, and how he has brought it all together in his role at Care Net.
Roland's perspective on the importance of marriage and fatherhood has helped inform Care Net's emphasis on not only saving the lives of unborn babies, but ensuring that those children have "abundant lives," too. More than 8 in 10 women who have abortions are unmarried, and a fear of being a single mother is one of the primary drivers of abortion. Therefore it is critical that pro-life organizations and pregnancy centers, including Care Net's network of over 1,100 affiliated centers, devise ways to increase the positive involvement of fathers in the pregnancy decision.
Under the banner of "The Joseph Project," Care Net will be rolling out promising practices and other resources to help pregnancy centers more effectively engage men to be the "Josephs" their communities need. The Joseph Project is inspired by the story of Joseph, the father of Jesus, who was called by God to be a husband to Mary and a father to Jesus who would provide for and protect his family.
This effort reflects Care Net's new vision and mission statements, which recognize that both women and men need assistance in making fully informed decisions about unplanned or "crisis pregnancies."
Founded in 1975, Care Net supports one of the largest networks of pregnancy centers in North America and runs the nation’s only real-time call center providing pregnancy decision coaching. Care Net envisions a culture where women and men facing pregnancy decisions are empowered by the gospel of Jesus Christ to choose life for their unborn children and abundant life for their families. Acknowledging that every human life begins at conception and is worthy of protection, Care Net offers compassion, hope, and help to anyone considering abortion by presenting them with realistic alternatives and Christ-centered support through its life-affirming network of pregnancy centers, organizations, and individuals.
