Roma Boots’ 5th Anniversary Brings New Styles to Help Fight Poverty
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) February 18, 2015 -- Roma Boots, the pioneer in socially conscious all-weather boots, continues its mission to ‘give poverty the boot’ as it celebrates five years of helping fight poverty with its “buy one, give one” business model, which donates a pair of boots to a child in need for every boot sold. A truly global brand, Roma has spent the last five years not only delivering functional fashion, but hope and compassion by the boot-full to thousands of children. The growing success of the Roma brand and business model has enabled the company to help kids across 20 countries and four continents.
In honor of its accomplishments over the last five years, Roma Boots is launching its newest collection featuring five new styles including booties, short lace, tall lace, and a special limited edition ‘Hope’ boot designed by a local artist. Designed with warmth and comfort in mind, Roma Boots are made from 100% natural rubber and come fully equipped with a quick-dry cotton lining and multi-layered insoles. The introduction of new styles continues to help Roma find new audiences with immediate success already seen with the popularity of the new 2015 lace-up style boots.
Romanian-born Samuel Bistrian founded Roma Boots in 2010 as a means to combine his love of fashion with philanthropy in order to help street children and orphans in his home country. Bistrian is excited about what increased sales means for his mission.
“We are literally continuing to give poverty the boot,” says Bistrian. “It is so exciting to see the faces of children light up when we give them a pair of new boots. And, the positive feedback we get from our customers makes it that much more fulfilling. We love bridging the sentiment from our customers to those in need.”
In addition to Roma’s “buy one, give one” business model, 10% of sales are used toward purchasing educational supplies to fill the boots before they are donated. Additionally, in 2012 Roma established the November 29 “Day of Hope.” This special day focuses on Roma Boots’ specialty: the art of giving. The day signifies a reminder to everyone that a simple act of kindness can be the hope someone needs to change the world.

About Roma Boots:
Roma means amor, and amor means love. Roma Boots is a social enterprise that sells fashionable boots and donates a pair for each pair sold to street children and orphans living in poverty—especially in cold and wet climates. Roma’s philanthropy-focused business model has led to unsolicited media exposure with major magazines and national morning shows.
About the Founder:
Romanian-born Samuel Bistrian received his first pair of handed-down rain boots when he was six years old and living in a small village in Transylvania. When he was eight years old, the Communist regime fell, and his family came to America in search of opportunity. After finishing college, Bistrian worked in retail. In 2007 he left a department manager positon at Neiman Marcus to pursue his passion to travel and write and help others—especially street children and orphans. After meeting TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie at Neiman Marcus in 2009, he was inspired to start Roma Boots.
