Self-taught Dominican Artist With More Than 8 Million Followers on Instagram to Paint Live With Guests at Special Event In Miami
MIAMI, March 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On March 27, artist Ronald Restituyo will be creating a brand new work at a live event in Miami. Restituyo will paint the new piece during the event, with the help and inspiration of the guests who are present.
"Art is a process, truly a creation. Everyone should be able to see the process of making the creation, because the process is beautiful"
The self-taught artist has been painting "for as long as I can remember". A child from a poor family, Ronald received much of his inspiration from nature and the world around him. "I grew up in a mountainous area of the Dominican Republic that is very connected to nature. Everywhere we went there were trees. It was quiet, calm, and peaceful – a perfect place to receive inspiration for my work."
When he was 10, he used the pencils he used at school to draw what he was passionate about. And in 2011, he spent all he had so he could purchase painting tools so he could pursue his dreams of being a full-time artist. After graduating as an engineer in 2014 and working for a few years to cover the bills, he finally was able to achieve his dream and become a full-time self-sustaining artist in 2017.
To help showcase his art, Ronald started an Instagram account called @DailyArt in 2015, where he could share his own work along with other artwork that inspired him. Within the first year, the account added more than 100,000 followers. Since then, the account has continued growing to more than 8 million followers since he started.
In addition to Ronald showcasing his own art, he helps showcase the art of other aspiring artists as well. "I love being able to use the account to help other artists grow. I know what it's like to want to paint – to want to share your creations with the world. And with @DailyArt, I can help them because I'm an artist too."
Ronald will be sharing his new work live at the Continuum on South Beach on March 27th at 6:30PM EST. For more information about the event, contact Jimy at [email protected].
