This book collection offers a well-researched, comprehensive and authoritative predisposed information discussing every breed.
Set for a new marketing campaign, this book lists all documented and reported medical conditions of 185 purebred dogs 50 purebred cats. It is divided into three columns. The left hand column contains the breed of the dog or cat plus any synonyms for that breed. It also contains the different organ systems that serve as headings for the various conditions. The middle column contains a list of conditions either documented or reported anecdotally for that breed. When available, an abbreviation indicating the mode of inheritance is included. The third column contains a brief definition of these conditions as well as whether a DNA test is available. A select list of references is also included.
The information contained in this book was taken from the books, "Medical, Genetic and Behavioral Risk Factors of Purebred Dogs" and "Medical, Genetic and Behavioral risk Factor of Purebred Cats." About the Author
Ross D. Clark, DVM, is the founder of Woodland PetCare Centers and a co-founder of National PetCare Centers. He received his doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from Kansas State University in 1963. He is the author of "Medical, Genetic, and Behavioral Aspects of Purebred Cats" and the co-author of the first and second edition of "Medical and Genetic Aspects of Purebred Dogs." He is also author of four management books: first, a practice management manual; second, "The Best of Ross Clark"; third, "Mastering the Marketplace —Taking Your Practice to the Top"; and his latest book "Open Book Management for Veterinary Hospital Teams." He has toured throughout the world as a practice management lecturer and consultant. Clark is currently owner and/or managing partner of three small animal practices and two pet resorts in Oklahoma. He and his team have been doing veterinary practice management consultation, seminars and appraisals since 1981. He is married to Linda and they have two children, twins Kent and Kimberly.
