Next Big Project initiative launched in 1993 and provided $425,000 to support capital improvement and enhancement projects in the Frederick community
FREDERICK, Md., July 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Rotary Club of Carroll Creek (RCCC) is proud to announce the organization's "Next Big Project," a long-term community service effort that makes important updates to the Frederick community. Next Big Project was an initiative launched in 1993 and has provided more than $425,000 to support many capital improvement and enhancement projects in the Frederick community.
Next Big Projects must be projects that are achievable, sustainable, visible and of necessity to the Frederick community. Once a previous project is completed, nonprofit organizations are invited to submit projects for consideration that meet these criteria. For 2022, RCCC has chosen to award $57,800 to the YMCA Arts Center, located at 115 East Church Street to support the construction of a maker's space lab, a pottery studio, a sound recording studio and a video studio. These upgrades will allow the YMCA to offer enhanced arts education to the Frederick community.
"We are thrilled to provide this funding to the YMCA Arts Center to offer additional opportunities to build creative, artistic skills in Frederick. The club is grateful to support the construction of these healthy, supportive environments in downtown Frederick" said RCCC President Steve Heine.
"The YMCA looks forward to providing a variety of new and cutting-edge arts programs, connecting Frederick youth, teens, and adults to their potential, purpose, and each other to shape our community today and for tomorrow," says Chris Colville, President and CEO, YMCA of Frederick County.
Previous Next Big Projects include The Community Bridge on Carroll Creek, the construction of the Police Activity League (PAL) Center gymnasium, critical upgrades to the Baker Park Bandshell, the installation of "Splashes of Hope"- art murals at Frederick Health Hospital Pediatric area, and critical upgrades to the Boys & Girls Club Teen Center located on Burck Street.
