One hundred companies, nonprofits and other organizations were honored for 2021. Those honorees were chosen by independent research firm Quantum Workplace, which analyzed thousands of employee submissions about their employers using a complex algorithm to rank the companies in five categories based on the number of employees.

Phoenix companies with a minimum of 10 full-time equivalent, permanent employees were eligible to participate. Winners in five company size categories were picked by an independent research firm based on responses to employee surveys. Nearly 90% of the company's employees had to complete the survey to be considered this year.
