Roto-Rooter Congratulates their San Antonio Branch as a Top Performer in the Second Annual "Giving Thanks Food Drive"
Roto-Rooter, North America's Largest Provider of Plumbing and Drain Repair Services, Collects More Than 52,630 Donated Items This Holiday Season
SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 29, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Roto-Rooter, North America's largest provider of plumbing and drain repair services, is excited to announce the results from their second annual Giving Thanks Food Drive. Each year, Roto-Rooter teams and individual employees compete to gather the greatest number of non-perishable goods. All donated items are passed along to community food banks and pet shelters for distribution. This year, Roto-Rooter's San Antonio branch collected 804 items and was a top performer among U.S. locations, based on percentage of donations when weighed with monthly job count.
"2020 has been such a challenge for so many people due to COVID-19. It is therefore heartening to see our San Antonio team advocating for hard-hit, essential community food services in this way," says Todd Wink, General Manager. "Clearly, our customers also rallied to the cause and donated generously this year."
The company's Providence, RI branch and El Paso, TX contractor location collected the largest percentages of donations this time around. Top individual performers Alfredo Salas of El Paso, TX and Del Trahan of St. Louis, MO collected the most of any technicians across the nation, with a combined total of 945 donations. Roto-Rooter's corporate headquarters also contributed, collecting a notable 2,013 items.
Nationwide, Roto-Rooter employees collected 52,630 food items, which amounts to 9,000 more cans than last year. To give a bit more perspective, this total is equivalent to over 49,000 pounds (24.5 tons) of food, or enough to feed more than 24 adults 3 full meals a day for an entire year.
During the past two years, Roto-Rooter has collected more than 96,916 items for local food banks and pet shelters. That's 97,000 pounds (48.5 tons) of food!
