Outsourced investment management research platform short-listed in the Socially Responsible Investing category for its new ESG Investing Research

InStrategy was selected by a judging panel of industry luminaries in a highly competitive submission process of over 625 nominations from over 220 companies as a Finalist in the Socially Responsible Investing category for its ESG research enhancements.

Rowling & Associates (R&A), a multiple award-winning independent wealth management firm, announced today that InStrategy, R&A’s outsourced investment management research platform, has been recognized as a Finalist in the 2020 wealthmanagement.com’s prestigious Industry Awards Program.

InStrategy was selected by a judging panel of industry luminaries in a highly competitive submission process of over 625 nominations from over 220 companies as a Finalist in the Socially Responsible Investing category for its ESG research enhancements.

“Our new ESG research focus that we have adopted in our RIA firm has proven to be a powerful investment management approach, particularly in the current volatile market environment resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Sheryl Rowling, CEO and founder of R&A. “Incorporating ESG recommendations into our InStrategy investment management research platform is providing advisors with additional tools to help manage client portfolios during these interesting times.”

The research conducted by R&A found that funds with ESG factors considered performed equally as well as benchmark funds; however, those funds with an ESG tilt had lower volatility, resulting in superior, long-term risk-adjusted returns. The ESG focus of the InStrategy offering provides advisors access to a fully researched platform, including identifying an ESG hybrid mutual fund list and associated model portfolio recommendations.

InStrategy is an outsourced “CIO” tax-efficient investment strategy and research service that provides quantitative and qualitative methods used for identifying preferred mutual funds and portfolio models for independent advisors, based on Modern Portfolio Theory. InStrategy includes asset allocation models, preferred mutual fund buy lists, tax loss harvesting fund buy lists, rebalancing software settings, building block models, detailed fund analyses, ESG preferred funds, and 529 plan analysis all under a white labeled platform that advisors can leverage for presentations, quarterly letters, and timely client emails.

“As a result of this research, we have moved all of our clients to ESG portfolios and our clients are experiencing the benefits, particularly in these volatile times,” said Lorenzo Sanchez, Director of Wealth Management for Rowling & Associates. “We are thrilled and honored to be recognized in the 2020 Wealthies and look forward to celebrating the winners at the virtual gala event in September where the industry will gather for this unique opportunity to recognize the many companies supporting advisor success.”
