“The Wounded Warrior”: a welcoming message of hope. “The Wounded Warrior” is the creation of published author Roy Bennett, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who is currently pastor at Welcome Home Christian Fellowship in Lucasville, Ohio. He also has been a member of Bikers for Christ Motorcycle Ministry since August 2002. Bennett has served as a local chapter elder, Ohio State elder, Midwest regional elder, and is currently serving on the National Board of Elders.
Bennett shares, “We all know about a Peter in our life, that someone who has known Christ and has been a great spiritual warrior for the Lord. They have been a very effective pastor, minister, teacher or inspiring worship leader doing the Lord’s work. Then something happens in their life that causes them to quit and fall away from God and their calling. They become bitter, rejected, and ashamed. Those whom they felt they could trust and lean on have deserted them.
“They go down a spiraling pit of separation from those who truly care for them and begin to fall into the things of the world. They feel as if no one understands them and no one cares for them. Suddenly, they realize that the only hope and peace they ever had in their life was with Christ. How can I come back to God? What can I do now since I have messed my life up completely?
“This is what happens to a wounded warrior with the scars from the battle of life. But there is hope in getting back to God, and not just a hope in getting back but being used of God again. Jesus told Peter even before he betrayed Him, “When you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren” (Luke 22:32 NKJV).
“The Wounded Warrior is about bringing that broken Christian warrior back into the fellowship of the church and helping them get back into serving the Lord with joy, fulfilling the calling that God has placed on their life. If you have ever been in this position, you will understand how important it is for us as their brother in Christ to help them get back to Christ. And if you have never been in this position, praise the Lord, then it is time to learn how you can help to restore our fallen brothers.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Roy Bennett’s new book empowers readers towards personal and spiritual growth while offering helpful guidance on aiding others in need of healing through Christ.
Bennett brings an important aspect of the Christian walk to life within the pages of this considerate discussion of faith.
