Roy Stillman of Stillman Properties Receives County Proclamation
Mamaroneck, NY (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Roy Stillman, Esq., President of Stillman Property Management, recently was recognized for his generosity toward Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) with a proclamation from County Legislator Bill Ryan. In addition to serving as a long-standing WJCS board member, Stillman received honors for donating space at 170 East Post Road in White Plains for the WJCS Pass It On Kid’s Kloset and leasing space at below-market cost to the new WJCS Taft Community Room located at the same address.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve WJCS and to help them help the community,” says Stillman. “WJCS is using our space at 170 East Post Road to improve the lives and futures of those in need.”
The Taft Community Room provides a social space for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, hosting such programs as POINT (Pursuing Our Independence Together) and a Supper Club social group. An all-volunteer effort, Pass It On Kid’s Kloset relies on donations of children’s clothes, diapers and strollers to pass on free of charge to families who cannot afford them. It clothed more than 1,000 local children in 2012.
“Roy's dedication to his community is inspiring and he has truly made Westchester a better place to live and work,” says Barry Kaplan, President, WJCS Board of Directors. “As a board member, businessman, philanthropist and advocate, his efforts on behalf of WJCS are so instrumental in helping the agency provide opportunities for 20,000 people annually, from pre-school children to frail older adults, to live successful, independent and dignified lives. Roy Stillman and Stillman Property Management exemplify the value of public-private partnerships between the not-for-profit and business worlds in strengthening Westchester for all residents.”
Stillman Property Management has a rich history of support for WJCS and its programs. The company’s proud reputation as a leader in philanthropy matches the pride and care it takes in all of its property management services for co-ops, condominiums, rental buildings and commercial spaces.
