5k? 10k? How about 40,075k! RUN the Globe is an entirely new type of running challenge that invites participatants to collectively run the circumference of the earth while raising funds and awareness for the survivors of domestic violence.
CHICAGO, Sept. 13, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Domestic violence has no citizenship. That's why this October RUN To Change Lives and Her Adventures are teaming up to host a global running challenge to bring awareness to domestic violence. RUN The Globe is an entirely new kind of running challenge that showcases the distance and the impact we can make together. Taking place during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the challenge is an inclusive month-long virtual event for all skill levels during which participants will collectively run the circumference of the globe, or 40,075 kilometers. RUN the Globe isn't just a virtual run but a virtual trip, as the challenge includes a planned route with online stops at cities and landmarks around the world as the miles add up.
As participants virtually run the circumference of the globe, they will also have the opportunity to raise funds to support survivors of domestic violence. All monies raised will go to Speak Your Truth Today, a non-profit with the mission of amplifying the voices of victims and survivors of domestic violence, providing abuse education, networking resources and emotional support, and celebrating freedom from domestic abuse.
"RUN the Globe will be monumental in helping Speak Your Truth Today grow and reach more survivors. The funds from this event will be aiding our newly launched Job Readiness & Care Package programs - which are directly supporting survivors who are in the midst of their transitions from abuse," says Hannah Hollander, founder of Speak Your Truth Today.
This inaugural event is expected to be a global success and become an annual awareness and fundraising initiative. Her Adventures, RUN To Change Lives, and Speak Your Truth Today are 2021-22 Facebook Accelerator Program winners, having been recognized as three of the most engaged and impactful communities on the Facebook platform by Meta. They are poised to connect people worldwide, with a current combined membership of nearly 100,000 people.
Registration for RUN The Globe is free and open to all, and sponsorship opportunities are available. The inaugural RUN The Globe event will take place October 1-31, 2022.
