WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SAE International issues a "call for participation" in the SAE WCX Connected Vehicle Challenge 2019.
The Connected Vehicle Challenge returns for its second year of supporting new ideas that improve communities, quality of life and the environment. Participants are asked to develop and build an innovative connected vehicle device or system to demonstrate how vehicle connectivity can enhance communities, quality of life, and the environment.
Entries from last year's Connected Vehicle Challenge included solutions for safety, navigation, autonomous driving, payment systems, traffic management and mobility advances for disabled and aging drivers.
Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 5.
Five finalists will be selected on Friday, March 15. The finalists will present their innovations in front of celebrity judges at SAE International's WCX World Congress Experience in the Connect2Car Ballroom on Thursday, April 11, at Cobo Center in Detroit.
The winning innovation will be awarded a cash prize of $10,000 with additional prizes awarded for second and third place winners.
