SAE International Announces Powertrains, Fuels and Lubricants Digital Summit

Free Virtual Event Offers More Than 200 Hours of Live and On-demand Technical Programs from Leading Industry Experts.

SAE International announced it will hold the inaugural Powertrains, Fuels and Lubricants Digital Summit on September 22-23, 2020. The free digital summit will virtually bring together the powertrain industry for two days of discussion around new powertrain technologies related to engine design, fuels, lubricants, combustion, and emissions control for the light-, medium-, and heavy-duty automotive segments.

“As this critical industry event goes online, the ability to convene and collaborate as an industry remains of utmost importance as we focus on the latest topics impacting the powertrain, fuels and lubricant industry,” said Dave Weil, director of engineering events at SAE International. “The inaugural digital event will feature more than six hours of live content as well as more than 200 on-demand sessions, including executive panel discussions and keynote presentations from industry leaders around the world.”

Over the two-day event, participants will have access to six live sessions, including three executive plenary panels on the topics of Fuels and Lubricants, General Powertrains and Electrified Powertrains, featuring speakers from government, several OEMs and academia, and three keynote speakers:

  • Tuesday: Stefan Pischinger, president & CEO, FEV Group GmbH: “Future Perspective of the Internal Combustion Engine”
  • Tuesday: Staffan Lundgren, director technology exploration & strategy, Powertrain Engineering, Volvo Group Truck Technology: “Heavy Duty Powertrains Towards 2040”
  • Wednesday: Piotr Szymański, director for energy, transport & climate, European Commission Joint Research Centre: “The Future of Road Transport. Implications of an Automated, Connected, Low-carbon and Shared Mobility”

In addition to the event being free of charge, registrants will also have access to more than 250 hours of on-demand, pre-recorded technical presentations after the live event has concluded.
