Allows Organizations to Deploy OpenSSL 3.0 and TLS 1.3 with a FIPS Validated Cryptographic Module
PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SafeLogic announced today the availability of CryptoComply OpenSSL 3.0 FIPS Provider, a new software product that allows organizations to deploy OpenSSL 3.0 and TLS 1.3 with a FIPS 140 validated cryptographic module. FIPS 140 validation is required for products containing cryptography to be used by government agencies. It is also required by security regulations including FedRAMP, Common Criteria, CyberSecurity Maturity Model Security (CMMC) 2.0, and DoD APL among others.
OpenSSL is a widely used open-source cryptographic library. OpenSSL 3.0 is the latest version and includes support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3 by default. TLS is a protocol used to encrypt data as it traverses the internet. TLS 1.3 is the latest version and includes many performance and security improvements over previous versions.
"Technology vendors using OpenSSL and TLS while requiring FIPS 140 validated cryptography want to be using the latest and most secure versions of OpenSSL and TLS. SafeLogic now enables them to do so," said Evgeny Gervis, SafeLogic CEO. "SafeLogic's CryptoComply OpenSSL 3.0 FIPS Provider supports both OpenSSL 3.0 APIs and TLS 1.3 with a FIPS-validated encryption module."
CryptoComply OpenSSL 3.0 FIPS Provider has completed an Early Access program and is now Generally Available (GA). It is available to current SafeLogic customers as an optional upgrade. These companies will be able to use this new software with their existing FIPS 140-2 certificate. Non-SafeLogic customers wanting to use OpenSSL 3.0 or TLS 1.3 with a FIPS validated cryptography module will also find CryptoComply OpenSSL 3.0 FIPS Provider a good option. Both new and existing SafeLogic customers can request more information about this new product here, or by sending an email to [email protected].
SafeLogic provides validated cryptography solutions for mobile, server, Cloud, appliance, wearable, and IoT vendors that are pursuing compliance with strict regulatory requirements.
