Safeway Celebrates 100 Years with Community Birthday Celebration and Awards Two Toyota RAV4's to Drawing Winners; Enjoy Food Sampling, Giveaways, and Meet Safeway's New Mascot, Scoot

PLEASANTON, Calif., Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Safeway turned 100 years old and everyone is invited to the party! Join us as we celebrate a century of serving Northern California with a fun and festive community event on Thursday, November 5, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Safeway store located at 4440 Tassajara Road in Dublin.

Open to the public, the celebration will feature food samplings throughout the store, giveaways, and performances by the Amador Valley and Emerald High School cheer squads and Emerald High School band. Guests can also meet and take photos with Scoot, Safeway Northern California's adorable new mascot.

The afternoon will culminate with a milestone moment befitting Safeway's centennial: two lucky winners will receive a brand-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 purchased from Dublin Toyota. The winners were already randomly selected from over 55,000 entries as part of Safeway's anniversary activities by an independent, third-party sweepstakes administration firm.
