SAHARA's 28th Annual Gala; An Inspirational Evening to Empower the South Asian Community
Featuring comedian Dan Nainan and Congressman Ami Bera, join SAHARA for an evening filled with inspirational stories, a live auction, and gourmet dinner all to benefit victims of abuse in the South Asian Community.
CERRITOS, Calif., July 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The South Asian Helpline and Referral Agency (SAHARA) announced it will be holding it's 28th Annual Gala at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center located at 18000 Park Plaza Drive, Cerritos, CA 90703 on Saturday, September 14, 2019, 6pm. The Gala themed "Empowering Our Community", will bring a glamorous evening filled with special performances, inspirational stories, and opportunities to aid victims of abuse in the South Asian Community, one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in the country.
"Every year, SAHARA's gala is an amazing opportunity for the South Asian Community to come together, enjoy a fun-filled evening, and be able to give back to those who need their support", said Executive Director, Marilyn Neece. "For 28 years, we have been able to provide support to all South Asian victims of abuse and adversity, no matter their age or immigration status, from the funds we receive through our yearly gala. It truly is an inspirational event that has a life-changing impact."
The 28th Annual Gala will feature comedian Dan Nainan as its emcee. Dan has appeared on Last Comic Standing, Family Guy, and has performed in 28 countries on five continents including TED India. The Gala will also feature Congressman Ami Bera as its keynote speaker. Congressman Bera, a first-generation American born and raised in California, is the longest-serving Indian American currently serving in Congress.
The evening will start with a social cocktail hour, immediately followed by a gourmet dinner presented with live entertainment, inspirational speakers, and a live auction with all proceeds going to support SAHARA's life-changing programs.
