"Our mission is to inspire all students to think critically, pursue their dreams and change the world," said Darren Ginther, Director, Office of College & Career Readiness at SPPS. "As a community, we must come together to ensure our diverse student body has equitable access to thrive in society."
SAINT PAUL, Minn. (PRWEB) July 29, 2020
Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS), the second largest school district in Minnesota, announced its adoption of the future readiness platform Xello for its 37,000 preK-12 students.
Starting in the Fall, students will have access to Xello’s expansive database and discover opportunities that align with their strengths and interests. The district will transition from a grade 6-12 college planning tool to the career exploration platform to meet the long-term goals of their five-year strategic plan - prepare all students for college, career and life.
“As we’ve seen in recent months, our community must come together to ensure our diverse student body has equitable access to thrive in society,” said Darren Ginther, Director of the Office of College and Career Readiness at SPPS. “Providing the time and space for students to explore their identity and how their interests, strengths and values connect to future possibilities is the foundation of our mission - inspire all students to think critically, pursue their dreams and change the world.”
Xello also tracks a student’s progress within the platform to seamlessly transition from grade to grade. As students advance through pathway courses, complete activities on skills development and start working toward college and career opportunities, all of their unique progress is saved to support the next step they decide to take. Whether a student plans to enter the military, four-year college or workforce, this progress will allow the district to measure student outcomes for their five-year strategic plan.
“Our mission is to help every student become future ready,” said Matt McQuillen, CEO of Xello. “We are proud to partner with Saint Paul Public Schools and support the district’s educators and students with the tools to carry out that same mission.”
Xello is a modern K-12 college, career and future readiness program that helps students achieve a deeper understanding of themselves, explore pathways and plan for the future. Using Xello’s discovery-based model, students build knowledge, real-world skills and confidence to prepare for the rapidly evolving world of work. Xello supports multiple student pathways and helps students build real-world skills. Nearly 8 million students and educators work with Xello. Learn more at http://www.xello.world.
