Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School Hosts Renowned Novelist and Speaker
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 17, 2015 -- On Thursday, April 23, Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School (STE), a private college preparatory school, is hosting internationally-known independent school consultant and published novelist Dr. M. Walker Buckalew, Jr. at 7 p.m. in the Saint Thomas' Episcopal Church chapel located at 4900 Jackwood St. in Meyerland.
Dr. Buckalew will present “Christian Private Schooling in the U.S.: A Look into the Future.” With vast knowledge of private schools and experience in academic institutions, his presentation will be eye-opening to many and is aimed to influence decisions regarding the future of schooling for this generation and the generations to come. Following the presentation, Dr. Buckalew will host a book signing. This free event is open to the community. Since 1989, Dr. Buckalew has served as a consultant to private schools across North America. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English and religion from Duke University before serving as an officer on the USS Constellation. After the Navy, Buckalew worked as a public school teacher and coach while earning his doctorate and Master of Education from the University of Wyoming. He previously taught at the University of North Carolina and St. Lawrence University and was appointed president and chief academic officer at Cumberland University in Tennessee.
