Sam Boak is a firm believer in hiring quality, experienced employees. For those with less experience, he requires them to go through weeks of training with his more qualified workers before they start on job sites. For example, all employees are required to attend training as soon as they are hired with the company and continuously attend refresher training throughout the year. Training consists of anything from Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) courses to learning new installation methods directly from the manufacturers of our products.
“Never ever EVER cut a corner is one of my rules for a reason,” says Sam Boak. “Quality of work is crucial, and I need to be able to trust my employees to deliver. It’s my responsibility to ensure my employees are trained and prepared to provide top quality work on every job.”
Most if not all our foreman and project managers have decades of experience and are trusted to train their crews to uphold the Boak & Sons standard. Long-term employment extends to our workers in the field as well with many of our senior crew members having years of experience under their belts. Many of our employees here at Boak & Sons have made a life-time career of their trade. Over half of our workforce has been here for over 10 years and the remaining employees are from growth. It’s not just a job here at Boak & Sons, it’s a family.
