Sandie oversees product development, marketing, and technology and uses her 20+ years of experience in these areas to drive Clean the World's innovative impact products forward and solidify the organization as a leading global, social enterprise. Sandie began her career with Clean the World in 2017 and since then has spearheaded the creation of several innovative social impact products.
Since 2009, Clean the World has been on a mission to save lives through the recycling and distribution of soap. Lead largely in part by Sandie, the organization specializes in creating innovative impact products intended to make the world a better place. Clean the World collects and recycles millions of pounds of soap from hotels around the world through its Hospitality Recycling program in effort to lead a "global hygiene revolution" to combat hygiene-related illnesses around the world. Additionally, Clean the World works with the public/private sector to fabricate mobile showers that are deployed to cities across the country to help fight hygiene insecurity among the unsheltered population as part of their Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program. The mobile showers are operated by Clean the World Foundation.
In addition to the Hospitality Recycling program and Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program, Clean the World also works with corporate partners to host Soap Saves Lives Box team-building events, where employees come together and assemble hygiene kits, school kits, and comfort kits for distribution to individuals living in poverty or to families displaced from their homes due to natural disasters. These events are hosted at offices, in conference settings, and from the comfort of employees' homes.
"I can often be found in the trenches with my team, especially when faced with a tight deadline. I lead by example and inspire my team to be the best they can be," explains Sandie. "My team knows that I am there to offer guidance and eliminate any potential roadblocks that keep them from being successful. I also spend time with each of my team members to understand their personal development goals, and then offer support and advice to help them reach these goals. This is true for my peers. I know I can lean on the other executives and my manager for support, and they know they have my support as well."
Clean the World will continue to expand its Hospitality Recycling Program by enrolling new hotels around the world to its roster of over 8,100 current partners. The organization plans to open operations in several new markets globally next year and is working on social micro-enterprising programming in areas with the greatest need, so used soap will be collected, re-manufactured, and distributed all with very close proximity. New features for existing hospitality customers include detailed impact metrics to meet the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and for the public, there will soon be a way for a hotel guest to "track their bar of soap" after use. Clean the World is always looking for additional products to create out of recycled plastic.
