NOBLESVILLE, Ind., Sept. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Author and professional counselor Sandra Scott returns to the publishing scene with the release of "Hidden Abusers: Charmers & Con Artists" (published by LifeRich Publishing). Following up on her first book on abuse 22 years ago, "Charmers & Con Artists…and Their Flip Side," this volume offers expanded information on the subject as well as a healing/recovery program to help people move from being a victim to a thriving survivor.
"If you are bruised, bleeding, or dead, anyone can see you are being abused. But what about the subtle, hidden abuses such as verbal, psychological, controlling abuses, and the stalking and monitoring your activities that cause you to lose your wonderful "self" into someone else's wants, plans, and demands? How do you break free? How do you heal and become all that God designed and wants you to be?" the author asks.
"Hidden Abusers: Charmers & Con Artists" makes a clear distinction between charmers and con artists. It focuses on charmers and presents case studies of these charismatic abusers, helping readers discern threats in their own relationships. From fictional characters, such as Scarlett O'Hara, to real-life examples, like O. J. Simpson, this book provides profiles and gives insights into this abusive behavior. It also includes a 12-step program combined with biblical insights to show victims how to become the new creation God designed them to be. Lastly, this book educates readers to recognize abuse not just in their own lives but also the lives of others. It seeks to inspire them to expose it, advocate for victims, interrupt or stop the abuse wherever possible, and to carry and pass on the message of healing.
"Hidden Abusers: Charmers & Con Artists" is written for church leaders and laypersons as well as individuals who are healing from the mental, emotional and spiritual trauma that charmers and con artists left in their lives.
