SAN JOSE, Calif., April 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sue Murphy and Evangeline Sangalang have been named members of the Santa Clara Family Health Plan Governing Board. Ms. Murphy is a Senior Consultant with Transformational Leadership Partners; Ms. Sangalang is Founder and President of Byanihan Fil-AM Foundation and member of SOURCEWISE Advisory Council.

With more than 30 years in healthcare leadership positions, Ms. Murphy conducts executive coaching and leadership workshops, helping executive teams achieve breakthrough performance and cultural transformation.
Ms. Murphy was formerly Chief Operating Officer at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Santa Clara, where she oversaw the planning and opening of the center and was responsible for all operations, including financial performance, patient care experience, utilization management, quality outcomes, performance improvement, and nursing services.
Prior to her work at Kaiser, Ms. Murphy was the Executive Director at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC), where she directed and administered all operations of SCVMC's hospital and Santa Clara County's custody health services. Before moving to San Jose, Ms. Murphy worked in leadership positions for several hospitals in southern California. Ms. Murphy has a Master's degree in Health Administration from Duke University, serves on several boards in Santa Clara County, and has been recognized multiple times as an influential woman in Silicon Valley.
Ms. Sangalang, in her positions at Byanihan Fil-AM Foundation and SOURCEWISE, is an advocate for healthcare, housing and human rights for at-risk and underserved communities in Santa Clara County. Prior to her positions at Byanihan Fil-AM Foundation and SOURCEWISE, Ms. Sangalang was Director of Clinical Research for San Jose Valley Research, Inc. and Clinical Research Coordinator/Epidemiologist for the Center for Clinical Trials of Sacramento.
Ms. Sangalang has worked with the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program and was the first woman to be appointed Commissioner of the National Guard and Veterans Affairs Commission in Santa Clara County. In addition to her work in California, Ms. Sangalang has led research teams for various healthcare programs in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ms. Sangalang has a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of the Philippines. She has received awards for her community work and partnerships.
