Santa Barbara Auto Group Introduces Audi Veterans To Technicians Program
Santa Barbara, CA (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Santa Barbara Auto Group is pleased to join with Audi of America, Inc. and inviting Veterans to join the Audi family. Audi of America, Inc. recently established the Audi Veterans to Technicians Program to meet the growing dealership demand for talented and experienced technicians. The purpose of the program is to attract skilled former military maintenance technicians to become brand-certified Audi Service Technicians, Shop Foreman, and Service Consultants, which will expand the pool of qualified personnel employed by authorized Audi dealerships.
Military Veterans go through extensive training and real life experience. The mechanical skills, personal integrity, and cooperative team work approach that they learned in the military can easily be transferred to civilian life. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, America’s veterans represent seven percent of the work force. Additionally, 90% separate from the military under the age of 35 allowing them the opportunity to apply the skills they learned in the military into a second career.
As the Audi brand continues to grow, so does the need for qualified technicians. "It’s hard to find good technicians who are honest, dedicated, and highly trained, but we have found a great cross over in skill set with the military" shares Thomas Fox, Service Director at Santa Barbara Auto Group. The Audi Technician Program recognizes and fosters diligence, creative thinking, and cooperation. They have proven themselves to be loyal and dedicated to what they do.
The Audi Veterans to Technicians Program provides highly skilled Veterans with the opportunity to apply and qualify for potential employment. Veterans will receive individualized support from a team of dedicated program staff coordinating the entire hiring process. All candidates must have received an honorable discharge from the military, have three or more years of technical training and performance, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Veteran candidates with a strong military maintenance background, who meet Audi foundational skills criteria, will be pre-screened to ensure they have the potential to meet dealership Service Technician, Shop Foreman, or Service Consultant requirements.
Audi Santa Barbara recently trained and hired a Veteran through the program and "couldn’t be more pleased with the talent, training, and integrity of our new team member" beams Audi Santa Barbara Service Director, Thomas Fox.
