Following this, she competed for a grant sponsored by Dr. Pepper and won the 2009 Throw for Duff contest.
SarahBeth Hartlage serves on the executive board of Women in anesthesiology. She participated in a working group that researched gender equality in medicine. This research was instrumental in the creation of a statement that supports parental leave and breastfeeding support for mothers. She is also a professional member of the Society for Education in Anesthesia and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Eligibility criteria and grant guidelines
In order to receive this grant, you must be a freshman, sophomore or junior enrolled in an accredited college or university. The deadline to apply is the 25th of April, 2021. The grant is a one-time $1000 award. It will be provided to a student based on their merit. The selection is based on the evaluation of an 800-word essay. The essay topic is as follows: "How Women Are Working to Revolutionize the Stem Field"
Applications will be examined and reviewed by SarahBeth Hartlage herself. The recipient will be notified via email on the 30th of April, 2021.
