Cardiovascular association and medical software group partner to launch a global cloud-based reporting database
MOUNT ROYAL, N.J., Jan. 31, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) has signed an agreement with Heart Imaging Technologies (HeartIT) to provide a worldwide cloud-based infrastructure for the SCMR Registry. The selection of HeartIT culminates a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) process that began in June 2018 and involved the review of proposals from six applicant organizations. The SCMR Registry will be formally launched at the SCMR 22nd Annual Scientific Sessions Meeting in Seattle, WA on February 8.
"The SCMR Registry is designed to support the mission of the SCMR, namely to improve cardiovascular health by advancing the field of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR)," said SCMR CEO Orlando Simonetti. "This partnership with HeartIT will take the SCMR Registry to the next level with complete integration of DICOM image data, automated tools to track patient outcomes, and the inclusion of many additional CMR centers around the world."
Robert Judd, President of HeartIT adds that "We're honored to have been chosen by the SCMR to provide the web mechanism for CMR centers to upload de-identified patient data that incorporates state-of-the-art data security and privacy standards. These services will be based on our existing cloud infrastructure, which currently stores similar data from over 62,000 CMR exams".
The SCMR Registry is expected to demonstrate the impact and effectiveness of CMR on an unprecedented scale, as well as provide new opportunities for CMR quality control and education.
