WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The SCORE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SCORE, the nation's largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, today announced a new "Mentor Matching" partnership opportunity for organizations to support entrepreneurs and small business owners in their constituencies. The Foundation recognizes its partnership with The Trust (Powered by the NFL Players Association) for its support of SCORE's valuable mentor network which Trust members utilize. The Trust refers their eligible former professional football players interested in starting a business to SCORE for free, personalized advice.
The SCORE mentor network features 10,000 volunteer business executives who provide free advice and coaching to founders through all stages of their small business journey. In the last fiscal year, more than 326,000 mentoring sessions took place across the country.
The "Mentor Matching" Program enables corporate and non-profit organizations to directly refer customers, prospects, suppliers, partners and other constituents directly to SCORE to be matched with a volunteer expert business mentor. "The Trust provides a full ecosystem of resources to players in support of their post-NFL success. While each player's transition is uniquely defined, those seeking to grow as an entrepreneur have extensive resources at their disposal to enhance and structure their journey," explained Kelly Mertens, Executive Director of The Trust. "Connecting former NFL players to a SCORE expert and mentor who can guide them along that path from vision to reality can mean the difference between setbacks or business success," she added.
"We applaud the role that The Trust plays to open the doors to entrepreneurship for former professional athletes and we are grateful for its support of SCORE's programs," said Liz Sara, president of the SCORE Foundation. "Such partnerships enable SCORE to provide the additional tailored resources, webinars, tips and tools to help founders succeed."
