ScratchWorks Launches "Season 2"; Adds Shannon Eusey, CEO of Beacon Pointe Advisors as Investor
Innovative FinTech accelerator opens submissions for FinTech companies to compete for seed funding and garner industry exposure, culminating at the 2019 Barron's Top Independent Advisor Summit
KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ScratchWorks, a leading FinTech accelerator, announced today the launch of "Season 2" of its annual program to connect innovative tech companies with investment and wealth management luminaries to advance the digital transformation of the financial services industry.
The ScratchWorks website (http://www.Scratch.Works) is now open for submissions for emerging and startup FinTech companies to pitch their business models, products and platforms live on stage for potential investment from the ScratchWorks investors at the Barron's Top Independent Advisor Summit, to be held March 20-22, 2019 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Also announced today was the addition of Shannon Eusey, CEO of Beacon Pointe Advisors, a multi-billion dollar independent RIA, as a core member of the investor team. Ms. Eusey is a highly regarded and award winning wealth management executive who will bring her experience, knowledge and investing acumen to the ScratchWorks' team.
Earlier this year, ScratchWorks held its inaugural event live at the Barron's Top Independent Advisors Conference featuring three top FinTech companies, pitching their business models and platforms for potential investment opportunities to the five original luminary founders of ScratchWorks: Marty Bicknell, CEO of Mariner Wealth Advisors, Dick Burridge, CEO of RMB Capital, Jon Eadie, Managing Director of Covenant, Jon Jones, CEO of Brighton Jones, and Michael Nathanson, CEO of The Colony Group. Collectively, these five leading RIAs manage over $60 billion in AUM for high net worth clients.
"We were extremely impressed with the caliber of the FinTech companies that participated in Season 1," said Marty Bicknell, CEO of Mariner Wealth Advisors. "So much so, that we have already made our first investment in InvestmentPOD, a ScratchWorks finalist that not only dazzled the over 600 top advisors at Barron's but also three of us as investors in their live pitch onstage. We are pleased to announce our significant investment in InvestmentPOD as a direct result of the ScratchWorks accelerator as well as an initial investment in ScratchWorks finalist Snappy Kraken, along with consideration for future collaboration and expanded investment as Snappy Kraken continues to execute on their strategic plan."
Submissions open September 10, 2018, and close on December 14, 2018, with special preferred pricing for applications received prior to November 16, 2018. New for Season 2, is a reduced application fee that is up to 75% lower than Season 1 to encourage even more FinTech startups as well as students to apply.
"I'm looking forward to joining this exclusive group of wealth management luminaries to further drive technology innovation across the financial services sector," said Ms. Eusey. "The chance to be part of the ScratchWorks team is not only exciting from an investing point of view, but feeds my entrepreneurial spirit as a great opportunity to see first hand the innovation that is transforming our industry."
