Seams Sew Easy Sewing Center, Fairfield, OH, Celebrates 14-Years with Store Expansion and Renewed Focus
Seams Sew Easy Quilting Center has been renamed Seams Sew Easy Sewing Center to better represent the focus of their business. With the COVID-19 cultural changes, Nancy Wiggins, owner has seen a renewed interest in sales and service of sewing machines, as well as new customers who want to learn to sew.
FAIRFIELD, Ohio, Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- When Nancy Wiggins opened her quilt supply shop, Seams Sew Easy Quilting Center14 years ago, it was the height of the quilting era. While quilters have remained her core business, over the last several years, one move and three location expansions, she has seen her business grow in different directions.
"The COVID-19 pandemic and the slower pace of life and work-at-home jobs has provided many people the chance to get back to their hobbies or to learn a new one. Quilting and sewing in general have become very popular," said Wiggins. "As a result, we have had a huge increase in sewing machine repair and tune-ups and an interest in purchasing new machines. That equates to more customers signing up for classes and purchasing materials and supplies."
During the shut down of non-essential stores, Seams Sew Easy Sewing Center took the opportunity to expand and redo their physical space, creating a more open area with social distance classrooms and a larger showroom for sewing machines sales. They had to suspend classes for two months, but have a full schedule which began in August and is running through the fall.
"Anything creative to do while being forced to do nothing has a great appeal," said Cheri Vandervort, Nancy's right-hand assistant and the Manger of the Sewing Machine Sales and Service. "People need a reliable and functional machine, but they also need to know how to use it. We offer free life-time owners' classes on all our machines, something no other business that we know of, offers."
Seams Sew Easy Sewing Center sells Pfaff and Baby Lock machines, two of the top sewing machines on the market. "While people need a good machine, they don't have to spend a fortune to get one," Vandervort said. "Our machines range from $99 to $15,000." Their web site details their products and allows people to order from anywhere in the USA and have the product sent to their home.
Their machine repair is handled by Mike Holtzman, sewing machine expert and collector of sewing machines. "My dad was a mechanical engineer and taught me that anything worth doing is worth doing correctly the first time. I go over each machine and every part of it, to make sure it is operating correctly."
The attention to detail and outstanding service are what has allowed this business to continue to grow. Customer service, a variety of classes, excellent products, and the ability to adapt to their customers' needs are the core of their professional philosophy.
Fall classes include a variety such as Quilting with Rulers, Embroidery Club, Project Classes, Landscape Quilts, and of course, Owners' Classes for anyone who purchases a new machine from Seams Sew Easy. A full list can be found on their web site at Seams-Sew-Easy.com.
