Sean Yazbeck Awarded “2014 Entrepreneur of the Year” at the ʻGreat Business Innovation Awardsʼ
Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- BritWeek Miami, the annual celebration of British culture and industry excellence in South Florida, kicked-off its series of events for a second year on Thursday, March 6th, with the second annual UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) ʻGREAT Business Innovation Awards Galaʼ held at The Viceroy Hotel in downtown Miami, which started at 6:30 p.m.
The evening gala and awards honored the most innovative British companies and individuals conducting business in Florida, Floridian companies making a positive contribution to the UK economy and entrepreneurs who have helped further the almost $4 billion bilateral economic partnership. Welsh actress and star of the upcoming film based on the long standing British TV series, Dr. Who, Samira Mohamed Ali, was the master of ceremonies.
Her Majestyʼs Consul General, Kevin McGurgan OBE, of the British Consulate-General Miami, presented the 2014 Entrepreneur of The Year Award to Sean Yazbeck. After winning season five of Donald Trumpʼs “The Apprentice,” the British expat set-up the telecommunications services company, WAVSYS, which today is an Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Company in America, employing more than 500 people and providing over $100 Million of services across the US, UK, Canada and the EU.
Her Majestyʼs Consul General, Kevin McGurgan OBE, also honored Marcelo Claure, Chairman and CEO of BrightStar Corporation, with a “Special Recognition“ Award. Mr. Claure is also an investment partner with soccer personality, David Beckham, for his MLS team franchise in Miami

Born in London, England Yazbeck graduated from Southampton Solent University (England) with a First Class Honors Degree. He is a member of the Miami chapter of YPO (Young Presidents' Organization) and plays polo at The Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, FL.
