Seasoned Executive Joining DCIIA to Lead Operational and Financial Management
Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 30, 2016 -- In the newly created COO role, Ms. Gerstner will have responsibility for financial and operational management, staff development and execution of strategic goals. There has been significant growth in DCIIA’s membership, staff and operations since its founding in 2010 and the addition of a COO will ensure that DCIIA has a robust internal structure in place that maximizes our ability to execute on our mission of enhancing retirement security while continuing to deliver on our core value proposition in serving our members.

Ms. Gerstner was most recently Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance at Combined Insurance where she led a major strategic initiative to integrate disparate operations teams into Centers of Excellence. Prior to that, she was President and Chief Operating Officer of Allstate Financial Services and Allstate Financial Advisors where she turned around an underperforming business unit. Ms. Gerstner began her career as a Tax Manager at Arthur Andersen and has always followed the firm’s motto “Think Straight, Talk Straight”. Known as a diversity champion, Ms. Gerstner has an entrepreneurial spirit and a transparent and authentic leadership style that is inclusive and engaging.
Ms. Gerstner holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a JD from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. She holds a variety a securities registrations and professional designations, including Certified Financial Planner. She is Chairman of the Board of Mujeres Latinas en Acción, a Chicago-based social services agency focused on empowering survivors of gender violence.
