Secura Consultants Begins to Give Back to the Community with Meals on Wheels
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) July 18, 2015 -- According to a study conducted by the Brown University School for Public Health, seniors who received daily meal deliveries demonstrated an improved quality of life. They reported improved mental health, reduced likelihood of falls, and increased feelings of safety. Secura Consultants has teamed up with Meals on Wheels on a weekly basis to deliver nutritious meals to Minneapolis residents in need.
As chairman of Secura Consultants' Give Back Committee, Mitchell Nelson, President of MyDisabilityPlans, LLC, headed this initiative. When asked how the committee decided on this opportunity, he responded, "It was simple. Secura Consultants exist to provide income protection solutions to clients before health conditions erode the ability to work and provide for themselves and their families. Meals on Wheels allows us to see the other side of our industry by serving those in our community who have experienced a decline in mobility and quality of life due to age or health."
The response from the Secura Consultants' staff has been positive. Nicole Blodgett, DIA, Vice President of Secura Consultants said, "By delivering meals to seniors, it has helped put into perspective the importance of what we do. We have the opportunity to see how what we view as a simple commitment can make such a huge difference in the quality of life for so many."
