Securly Makes Key Executive Hire to Head New Modalities

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Securly is excited to announce that Rich Watson has joined the company as Vice President of Accounts & Strategic Product Initiatives. Mr. Watson brings over 12 years of leadership experience within the K-12 sector, and most recently served as Vice President and General Manager, leading the classroom division for Follett Corporation.

Launching in 2013 with the industry's first and only cloud-based web filter, Securly has quickly expanded since to offer a comprehensive set of online safety solutions. Mr. Watson will have the responsibility of leading go-to-market strategies for Securly's student safety modalities: 24, Auditor, Tipline, and Classroom. He will also provide leadership to Securly's Account Management and Student Safety teams.

Before learning can take place, we must first and foremost ensure a safe environment for students. Securly makes it possible for educators, administrators and parents to meet these modern problems head on.

Along with the addition of Mr. Watson, Securly's executive leadership team is further defined by Bharath Madhusudan, co-founder of Securly, transitioning from Chief Technology Officer to Chief Revenue Officer. They join Anders Johnsson, current Vice President of Sales, as part of Securly's B2B sales and marketing executive leadership team.

Bringing experience as former VP & GM of the classroom business at Follett Corporation and former Regional VP of strategic accounts at Amplify Education, Rich has a track record of delivering exponential revenue growth in new products. Having built organizations from the ground up and managed international sales, marketing, product management, operations, and strategy teams within complex reporting structures he understands the importance of setting processes and investing in an organization's biggest asset, its people.

About Bharath

As one of Securly's co-founders, Bharath wrote the first version of the company's core filtering engine and led the first 200 accounts that Securly sold. He wore many hats as the company grew, including Securly's first sales engineer, post-sales representative, demand generation marketer, and renewals manager, and built and scaled the company's support and marketing teams to their current levels. Bharath has a Masters in Computer Science from Washington University at St Louis, and over a decade of enterprise security and engineering experience including an Architect level role at Huawei-Symantec. As Securly's Chief Revenue Officer he seeks to marry his engineering mindset with his operational experience in sales and marketing to help the company achieve the next level of scale.
