Seed&Spark and Duplass Brothers Productions Launch Second Annual Hometown Heroes Rally
The nationwide call for feature films expands to narrative and docs, with double the cash prizes for 2018 and up to 5 films to be executive produced by the Duplass brothers.
LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Duplass Brothers Productions and Seed&Spark have again opened the call for feature films from across the nation, expanding the call to include both narrative and documentary features centered on the filmmakers' hometown. Filmmakers have until August 31, 2018 to submit to the rally to be eligible for the grand prize: up to $50,000 in no-interest loans and have their film executive produced by Duplass Brothers Productions.

As a crowdfunding rally, Hometown Heroes serves as a large-scale campaign for voices outside the traditional Hollywood system to raise funds and build an audience in addition to being eligible for career-changing prizes, including $50,000 in no-interest loans from Duplass Brothers Productions and Salem Street Entertainment/Untl Entertainment. Additional prizes include a storage makeover from G-Technology valued at $5,000 and an Endcrawl 4K license (valued at $999).
To participate filmmakers must submit a crowdfunding campaign for a feature film on Seed&Spark by August, 2018. All campaigns will launch on September 17, 2018 and end on October 17, 2018. Campaigns that raise 80% of their goal and gather at least 1,000 followers become finalists and will pitch Duplass Brothers Productions. 2017's Hometown Heroes Rally resulted in 56 narrative feature films raising nearly $900,000 and building a collective audience of 63,000 followers. Filmmakers from 30 states participated, with North Carolina's Drought and Indiana-based The MisEducation of Bindu winning the grand prizes. Both films are shooting this summer under the executive producership of Duplass Brothers Productions.

About the Duplass Brothers
Mark and Jay Duplass are award-winning actors, filmmakers and producers. They first gained recognition in the early 2000's for writing, directing and producing several acclaimed independent and studio films, including The Puffy Chair, Cyrus, and Jeff, Who Lives at Home.
