SELECTiON.COM® has announced its new secure clergy abuse reporting system, created specifically for the Catholic Church, to assist in compliance with Pope Francis's May 2019 Motu Proprio.
CINCINNATI, May 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SELECTiON.COM® is among the first to build a simple, secure, reporting system for instances of abuse, called Report & Protect™. According to Pope Francis's 2019 Motu Proprio, all Dioceses must have a "public and accessible" system in place for reporting cases of clergy abuse, by June 1, 2020. Report & Protect™ is a new best practice tool developed to supplement the USCCB Bishop hotline and provide an outlet for all claims of abuse.

There are two easy ways for users to create a claim, with a 24-hour reporting phone line and a mobile-friendly website. An easy to complete online contact form is available for victims and witnesses of the alleged abuse. After an incident report is submitted, a unique confirmation number is provided to the witness/victim so that they can check the status of their claim throughout the process.
The Report & Protect™ system handles all reports carefully and securely. The data is sent on to the appropriate contact within each Archdiocese/Diocese immediately. All confidential reports and personally identifiable information are only viewable by explicit Diocesan Administrators through a secure web login.
The entire system is physically and digitally secured behind many layers of protection and monitoring for victim and witness protection. All digital communications are encoded utilizing the latest technology.
