SEPT. 12-14: Golf Academy of America and Veteran Golfers Association Host 9/11 Commemoration Golf Tournament
MYRTLE BEACH, N.C. (PRWEB) September 12, 2017 -- Golf Academy of America and Veteran Golfers Association are partnering to host a unique golf tournament this week that will honor the sacrifices of America’s veterans since the deadly terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The tournament, called “Battle at the Beach,” was postponed slightly due to Hurricane Irma and will now take place Tuesday, Sept. 12 - Thursday, Sept. 14.
Battle at the Beach is a two-man team tournament open to all those who wish to pay tribute to the brave servicemen and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. The entry fee of $299 per person includes entry into the tournament, a cart, mulligans, icebreakers, a towel, a commemorative gift and awards, prizes and special drawings.

Battle at the Beach will kick things off with a rousing Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament event on Tuesday night before the tournament begins on Wednesday. A full schedule of events can be found here.
As part of its partnership with Veteran Golfers Association, senior-level students from Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach will be volunteering at the tournament. The students will exercise their tournament operations skills by running scoring, acting as rules officials and assisting in the event organization.
Battle of the Beach will also feature a tour of the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach campus, which will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 2 – 5 p.m. The tour will include an inside look at the college’s classrooms, curriculum and clubfitting areas, in addition to a sneak peek at putting areas and advanced golf technology such as Trackman and golf simulators. Visitors to the campus will also be able to receive a PGA video swing analysis.
