Serena Dai joins Westwood Labs, award-winning "Green" contract manufacturer of beauty and OTC topical products, as head of R&D

Deborah Pierce continues as Chief Scientific Officer.
PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Paul Schirmer, President of Westwood Laboratories, welcomes aboard 18-year cosmetic industry veteran Serina Dai as Senior Director of Research & Development. Serina, who joined September 3, 2019, will oversee the day-to-day operation of the R&D lab. Deborah Pierce, Chief Scientific Officer, remains on board as Westwood Lab's technical expert and will concentrate on special projects and innovation across a multitude of categories, including beauty, personal care, over-the-counter remedies, and household products.
Westwood Labs', with over 100,000 square feet of fully solar-powered facilities, offers superior manufacturing versatility in numerous personal care categories, including beauty care, over-the-counter topical drugs, topical medical device formulations, and pet/animal care products.

Serina Dai comes to Westwood Labs with nearly 20 years of experience in the cosmetic industry. She received her BS in Biochemistry from UCLA and her MS in Biochemistry from the University of Saint Joseph. She started her professional career serving as an R&D Chemist for Cosway Company where she formulated all types of skincare, hair care, and OTC products. In 2007 she joined Markwins International as Senior Chemist formulating color cosmetic products. She spent the last 11 years with Aware Products (now known as Voyant Beauty), leading their new innovations focused R&D team. Serina is a long-time member of the California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (serving as Cosmegram Editor), as well as a member of the American Chemical Society and Beauty Industry West.
