SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Dec. 22, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Service Objects, the leading provider of real-time global contact validation solutions, announced its response to recent news of a major security breach affecting numerous corporate and government entities in the United States and worldwide. Service Objects was not affected by this breach and is assuring its customers that it is implementing enhanced procedures to protect its bank-grade security infrastructure.
On Dec 17th, 2020, news broke that many federal and corporate networks were victims of attacks resulting from vulnerabilities tied to network management software from SolarWinds. Reuters reports that several U.S. agencies and Microsoft were breached in the cyberattack, which ultimately affected 40 of SolarWinds' customers, and that affected entities appear to have been specifically targeted.
Service Objects is not a SolarWinds customer and does not use any of its software. Service Objects uses the firm Site24X7 for its network monitoring, which was not affected by this breach. Since SolarWinds confirmed the vulnerability, Service Objects has taken steps to further secure its customers' information and are accelerating routine security maintenance within its internal network.
"We validate millions of contact records every day and, by design, we don't store any of our clients' data on our servers," said Geoff Grow, Founder and CEO of Service Objects. "Requests for information and our responses are never stored to any log, disk or database. While we were not affected by this breach, it underscores the importance of the multiple levels of security we implement to protect our customers."
Service Objects will continue to monitor and respond accordingly to ensure its network and data is protected. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions about this incident.
