In celebration of National Grandparents Day, Sesame Workshop and UnitedHealthcare partner with YourUpdateTV on nationwide media tour to encourage families and grandparents to stay connected, seek out nutritious foods and incorporate physical activity into their daily lives.

Grandparenting today comes with new challenges and new opportunities to help kids learn and grow. And whether grandparents are providing care to children at home, or looking for ways to stay connected virtually, it’s more important than ever for them to stay healthy and valued as an important part of the family.

That is where UnitedHealthcare and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street come in. They are partnering to support families, health care providers and communities as they help kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger and kinder. And this year, helping families connect with their grandparents, whether they’re together or apart.

Rocio Galarza of Sesame Workshop and Lenys Alcoreza of UnitedHealthcare joined together on a nationwide media tour to discuss:

  • How Sesame Workshop and UnitedHealthcare have worked together to address a variety of well-being initiatives including food insecurity, lead safety, asthma, and healthy habits
  • What tools are available that can help caregivers create a healthy foundation for kids
  • How grandparents can make the most of their health benefits
  • How to take part in the program that has been successful in helping families increase their knowledge, beliefs and behaviors around nutrition
