Seton Youth Shelters Introduces New Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program Director, Presents Scholarships and Announces New Board Officers at Board of Directors at 2019 Annual Meeting
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., August 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- During its July 23rd, 2019 Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors at Il Giardino, Little Neck, Seton Youth Shelters announced its officers and board members for the 2019-2020 year. Board President is Dr. Maxine Singleton; Vice-President James White Regional Director for Safelite; Secretary (pro tem) Linda Spindel; Treasurer Patrick L. Maurer, Esq., a Pender & Coward shareholder and Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Following its business meeting and announcement of officers, Seton presented the Yoder Family Scholarship Award and a Microsoft Surface Pro (courtesy of BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair) to recipient Keith Rosenberg. Keith Rosenberg, a member of Seton's HYPE (Helping Youth Pursue Excellence) Program, has demonstrated excellence in the Hampton Roads community as an Eagle Scout and has earned multiple academic achievements. He will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall of 2019.
Seton Youth Shelters introduced its new Director of the MCP (Mentoring Children of Prisoners) Program, Jazming Cleffman. Cleffman previously served Seton as a shelter volunteer, mentor for the MCP Program, and case manager for the Girls' House. She gained additional experience at Samaritan House and the LGBT Life Center.
Since 1985, Seton Youth Shelters has provided emergency shelter and crisis counseling for youth, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with the goal of reuniting youth and their families through solution-focused, reality-based programs at no charge to the child or their family. Each year, Seton serves more than 5,000 Hampton Roads youth with a focus on prevention, intervention, shelter and counseling. Through its shelter, street outreach and mentoring programs, Seton Youth Shelters is the region's only organization devoted exclusively to providing shelter, counseling and outreach services to youth 9-17 in crisis and their families—24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at no charge to the child or their family.
