BOISE, Idaho, May 11, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Settra Series from Monarc, a premium bag series made using 100 recycled plastic bottles, has raised over $75k on Kickstarter since launching on Earth Day.
The Settra Series is a premium all-in-one everyday carry, gym duffel, and travel backpack. Each bag is engineered with durable 'global recycled standard certified' RPET fabric (see video overview here).
"We not only want to improve everyday life with our versatile and functional bags, but we also want to divert plastic waste and convert it into long lasting sustainable products," said Monarc co-founder Nathan Pavitt. "As a results of our sales so far, we're on track to save over 50k plastic bottles from our oceans and landfills. We're very grateful to our backers for their support, and so is mother nature."
Microplastics in the world's oceans have become such a problem that it is estimated by 2050 there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish. Everyday, over 60 million plastic water bottles are thrown away with an average of only 9% of them being recycled.
Along with the Everyday Duffel Pack, the Monarc team has created compact and modular added inserts to make The Settra Series bags even more functional.
The entire series comes with two compression packs and a laundry bag that allows clothes to be arranged and condensed for travel, a camera and lens gear case with divided inserts to protect and organize the equipment, and a tech pack to keep all of cords, drives, chargers and other digital tackle in order.
