Severe Drought Has California Utilities Incentivizing No-Cost Toilet Upgrades

The state has continued to lead the way to make sure California is able to cope with an unprecedented drought.
Several communities have begun restricting municipal water use, and water deliveries to California farmers have been curtailed. As of June 1st 2014, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power business and multifamily customers are being incentivized with cash rebates to upgrade their existing 3.5 or 1.6 gallon per flush toilets to the latest Water Sense approved 1.28 gallon per flush high efficiency toilets; saving up to 60%.
To participate in the SoCal WaterSmart Program, LADWP customers must first apply and be approved for rebates.
