Shady Grove Fertility (SGF), a visionary partner of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association will be sponsoring RESOLVE’s signature fundraising event: The 2019 D.C. Area Walk of Hope. The Walk of Hope is an annual fundraising event lead by RESOLVE that is hosted in cities across the nation to raise awareness and funding for the infertility community.

The 2019 D.C. Area Walk of Hope will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Barrel Oak Winery, Delaplane, VA at 9:30 a.m. SGF physicians, staff, and current and former patients will join together for the 1-mile walk that symbolizes the infertility journey—a series of small steps, each one filled with hope and a reminder that no one with infertility should walk alone.

“The Walk of Hope represents SGF’s commitment to the infertility community. It’s events like this that serve as a reminder of how common infertility is, with one in eight couples of reproductive age affected. It’s also meant to remind those who are struggling that they are not alone and that help is available. The Walk of Hope provides an opportunity to not only raise awareness for infertility but raise funds that support education programs and advocacy, which will be used to help others access the care they need to build their families,” says Brad Swelstad, M.D. who sees patients in SGF’s Woodbridge and Fair Oaks, VA offices.

The 2019 theme is “Strides for Orange Pride” and all attendees are encouraged to bring the official infertility awareness color – orange – to life at the event. All proceeds and donations benefit RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.

Since establishing a partnership with RESOLVE, SGF has helped to raise not only awareness about infertility, but close to $350,000 in support through annual events that advance RESOLVE’s programming, such as support groups, educational content, public awareness initiatives, and advocacy to ensure that family building options are available to everyone.
Barrel Oak Winery (BOW), located just an hour away from most DC metro area locations, is a family and dog-friendly environment with award-winning, handcrafted Virginia wine.
