Shannon McCracken, CEO of The Nonprofit Alliance, receives The NonProfit Times' 2022 Power & Influence Top 50 award
The award is given in recognition of executive leaders who have distinguished themselves in innovation and continued growth of nonprofits.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Shannon McCracken, CEO of The Nonprofit Alliance, was recognized at last night's 25th annual The NonProfit Times' Power & Influence Top 50 Gala held in Washington, D.C. at The National Press Club.
The 2022 Power & Influence Top 50 honorees were selected from a group of roughly 300 nominated top executives around the world, who distinguished themselves as leaders and innovators during the previous 12 months. Working tirelessly to overcome some of the greatest challenges nonprofits and charities have faced to date, they each made an exceptional impact ensuring continuation and growth.
As CEO for TNPA, McCracken has helped lead rapid and positive advancement. From The NPT, "At a time when professional organizations are under financial stress because memberships continue to plummet, McCracken just keeps building. She's thrown open the doors to many associations about to close for any number of reasons. She has led the fight state legislature by state legislature when the ability to fundraise or protect donors' rights has been targeted."
Prior to joining TNPA, McCracken served as chief development officer for Charity Navigator, facilitating communication with nonprofit organizations and dramatically increasing resources to support the successful implementation of a new strategic plan. She now serves on their board of directors.
McCracken also spent 17 years with Special Olympics, most recently as vice president of donor development, building and managing a multichannel individual fundraising program. She has been an engaged member of Direct Marketing Association Nonprofit Federation, with past roles as chairperson of the advisory council and chair of the ethics committee. McCracken is a Certified Association Executive and has a master's degree in nonprofit and association management.
"Being recognized by The NonProfit Times for continued innovation and results-driven initiatives at TNPA is remarkably gratifying. I am honored," said McCracken. "This award represents persistence in addressing the ever-changing problems our world and industry face while continuing to engage donors, grow mission awareness, and make a lasting impact. I am proud to be part of fulfilling this mission and leading the way toward lasting change with TNPA."
TNPA was formed in 2018 as a unifying voice to promote, protect and strengthen the nonprofit sector. Their members are U.S.-based nonprofit organizations serving across diverse cause areas like human services, health, religion, veterans, children, animals, seniors, conservation and others; and firms and consultancies that partner with nonprofits to accelerate their mission-led impact.
