Sheffield Care Center Announces Activities And Celebrations During National Nursing Home Week, May 14th To May 20th
Sheffield, Iowa (PRWEB) May 09, 2017 -- Flags waving, colors of red, white and blue and activities for all are just part of the week-long celebration of National Nursing Home Week at Sheffield Care Center located in Sheffield, Iowa. The national observance highlights the bond among staff, volunteers and residents that captures the American spirt.
Sheffield Care Center staff has planned a variety of activities that will highlight their staff, facility and community involvement. The day will serve to encourage acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion in the center, and recognize those who have helped residents enjoy a better quality of life.
Starting off the week will be Red, White and Blue Dress Day where staff, residents and visitors are encouraged to show their “Spirit of America,” a Piñata Party and a resident favorite: donut and coffee bar.
The schedule for the rest of the week is as follows:
Tuesday – Community Sundae Bar – Please come celebrate National Nursing Home Week with the Sheffield Care Center Residents and Staff at 3:00 pm and enjoy a Sundae.
Wednesday – Americana Baking, Bingo and Resident Pizza Party for supper
Thursday – Flag Craft and Church
Friday – Bring your pet to work day, 500 and a BBQ and Potluck for residents and staff
“We are grateful that so many individuals in our community are coming together to celebrate the work we do,” said Bonnie Hubka, Office Manager of Sheffield Care Center. “This year, we are using the power of relationships, food, entertainment and music, which captures the unique spirit of Rotary Senior Living.”
Established by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) in 1967, NNHW provides an opportunity for residents and their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and surrounding communities to acknowledge the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities.
