ShelfGenie®, the nation’s leading custom shelving and home improvement solutions franchise, finished 2019 with continued success, while looking ahead to a 2020 with more growth, by capitalizing on trends and expanding its reach to new markets.

In 2019, ShelfGenie added 10 new franchise partners to its system, bringing the total number of territories/units sold last year to 36.

“In addition to that, we had five transfers of ownership, where we were able to help existing franchise owners sell their business to a new franchisee,” said Wes Barefoot, director of franchise development at ShelfGenie. “So, we had a total of 15 new franchise partners join the system this year.”

Expansion in 2020

ShelfGenie kicked off the new year strong. The brand was named one of Franchise Business Review’s Top 200 Franchises for 2020, having received a survey score of 75.4, nearly 5 points above the home services industry average of 70.6. For the second consecutive year, franchisee satisfaction is high and is expected to continue, which is good news for new franchise partners looking to invest in the brand.

“For 2020, we plan to award franchise agreements to at least 15 new franchise partners — in markets where we don’t have a current presence — adding approximately 45 to 55 new territories and units,” Barefoot said.
